The Shambhala Meditation Center of St. Johnsbury serves a population of meditators who live in northern Vermont and New Hampshire. We offer programs designed to help people of all traditions discover their inherent sanity, gentleness and goodness.

The Shambhala Meditation Center of St. Johnsbury offers public meditation and Shambhala Buddhist teachings as well as connections to advanced contemplative practices at other Shambhala centers. The center is run by volunteers and is overseen by a local council of six to eight members.

ABOUT THE SHAMBHALA CENTER
We also collaborate where appropriate with other Shambhala centers in the region, especially Karmê Chöling in nearby Barnet, VT, as well as Montpelier, Burlington, and White River Junction, VT in offering programs.

The Shambhala Meditation Center of St. Johnsbury is located on the second floor of a brick building in St. Johnsbury’s downtown walking block. The center features a large shrine room, common space with a kitchen, living room and library for small group events, and two other practice/meeting spaces. The center has high-speed internet access/WiFi.

Our community is committed to creating a practice, study, and work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. We strive to foster a welcoming atmosphere and to develop an inclusive and enlightened society with facilities fully accessible to all persons. Although some of our programs and events are open only to those who have fulfilled certain prerequisites, everyone is welcome at our center.

HOURS: Wednesdays, 6-7:30 p.m. and Sundays, 10 a.m. to noon.
