ANNUAL NORTHEAST KINGDOM FALL FOLIAGE FESTIVAL
OVER 50 YEARS RUNNING! The NEK Fall Festival brings a piece of "Old Vermont" to life for visitors with local crafts, hymn sings, band concerts, church suppers, historical tours and, of course, the most beautiful fall colors there are! Six unique festivals take place in six towns over six different days. The villages of Walden, Cabot, Plainfield, Peacham, Barnet and Groton respectively invite you to come celebrate rural Vermont in all its splendor. Check back for full schedule of events.

Remembrance: A Memorial
Opening Ceremonies - Sunday, July 11th beginning at Noon. Dedicated to US Servicemen & Women who have lost their lives in Iraq & Afghanistan as well as those who continue to serve... Thus far, Remembrance consists of 4600+ abstract figurative sculptures, each one hand sewn, representing one American life lost in Iraq or Afghanistan. Venture Vermont- 2010 Outdoor Challenge
This fun program for families and kids is a statewide, outdoor scavenger hunt. You and your family can spend the season outside, and earn points for visiting beautiful places! When you get to those places, earn more points for doing all kinds of fun activities! Points are awarded for doing fun things like playing games, paddling on a lake, playing frisbee with your friends or attending nature programs. If you earn 250 points you will be awarded a Gold VIP Pass to Vermont State Parks. With it you can come back to Vermont State Parks for the rest of this year and all of next year for free day entry! All you need to do is download a score sheet, keep track of all your points, document your activities by taking photos and send them back to us!

HIGHLOW Project
Photographer Ned Castle collaborated with youth living in difficult circumstances across Vermont to re-enact high and low moments from their lives. The resulting large-scale photographs depict elaborate re-creations of these situations. Audio narrations by the participants provide contect for the photographs and explain their significance.

The Vermont Coalition of Runaway & Homeless Youth Programs (VCRHYP) is a statewide coalition of thirteen community agencies that ensure a statewide safety net for Vermont's runaway, homeless and other youth at-risk.

The 1st Annual Festival will offer free health screenings, food, activities, a community yard sale, a silent auction and raffle which includes Boston Red Sox tickets, a quilt, Elements Restaurant gift certificate, framed art from the Framing Format, gift baskets from Maple Grove Farms and Cabot Cheese and much more! There will also be face painting, other activities for children, information on health centers and providers, music, entertainment and more...don't miss the fun! Northeast Kingdom Great Race
Northeast Kingdom Skating Club will host the 4th Annual Northeast Kingdom Great Race based on the hit TV series “The Amazing Race”, The Great Race is a day long competitive event with many challenges…Teams of four will compete by racing through the Northeast Kingdom completing activities and challenges that are both physically and mentally challenging. Just like the TV series, participants can expect a few surprises along the way so choose your teammates wisely……Cash and other prizes!

Grown Up Spelling Bee
The Kiwanis Club of St. Johnsbury is holding a fun spelling bee for teams of adults as a fundraiser for the Kiwanis Swimming Pool. The bee will consist of teams of 4 adults over 18, dressed in costume and decked out with a team name. Prizes for best table decorations and costumes. $60 per team to enter. There are also ways you can support your favorite team and a 50/50 raffle so come one, come all to support the Kiwanis Pool! 1pm.

Agricultural Tours in the Hardwick Area
Join an all day caravan tour organized by the Center for an Agricultural Economy (CAE) the 3rd Thursday of every month beginning in May and ending in October. Hear the stories, tour the facilities, and meet the people that make this area so rich in community-based agricultural enterprises as well as the subject of countless news articles and most recently, a book. Beginning at the offices of CAE at 10am, Tom Stearns, president of the CAE Board, will lead a group of up to 25 people, caravan-style, to several different farms and businesses in Hardwick, Craftsbury, Albany, Greensboro and East Hardwick. The tours will be informative, fast-paced, fascinating and a fun way to experience the area. The tours cost $50 per person and are free to children 10 years and younger, accompanied by an adult.
