Corporate Taxes: The State of Vermont collects a corporate income tax
from all corporations.
Property Taxes: All property taxes are assessed at the local level,
determinant on a state formula. Contact your local town clerk for more
details.
Income Tax: Vermont's personal income tax piggybacks the federal tax.
Individuals pay 24 percent of their federal tax liability with some
exceptions, such as income from United States and municipal obligations.
Other Taxes: All other taxes collected in the state of Vermont are
related to individuals, such as automobile registration ($43.00 per year per
automobile), sales tax (5%) with clothing under $110 exempt, vehicles 6% and
