Colleges/Higher Education

    The Northeast Kingdom has many local colleges and other programs for furthering higher education.

    Our private and state colleges offer diversified educational and degree programs. All of the colleges have numerous fields/majors to choose from.

    Community College of Vermont (CCV) is an accessible, affordable and student-centered college, serving 9,000 students each year. A Vermont State College, CCV offers associate degree and certificate programs, as well as a wide selection of day, evening and online courses. Students may enroll part or full time in December, March and July for the upcoming semester. Financial Aid is available. www.ccv.edu

    Lyndon State College (LSC) offers liberal arts and professional programs integrating theory and practice to prepare graduates competent in their fields, equipped to handle the challenges of an evolving society and able to advance the quality of life in a diverse global community. www.lyndonstate.edu

    Springfield College is a fully staffed satellite campus of Springfield College, Springfield, MA, Higher education focused in human services. Offering a bachelor of science degree in human services with an optimal concentration in Addiction Studies, added concentration in early childhood education and two master of science degree programs; a 60-credit master's of mental health counseling and a 36-credit master's of community counseling & psychology. We transfer up to 72 credits through previous college experience, prior learning through training or work experience. Weekend classes for working adults. Our mission is to provide a broadly accessible education with a foundation based on social and economic justice.www.spfldcol.edu

    Sterling College is a four-year liberal arts college combining structured academics, hands-on experiential challenges and plain hard work into a curriculum deeply rooted in environmental studies. The college offers interdisciplinary studies, a comprehensive internship program, global field studies and a campus-wide Work-Learning-Service program. Academic majors: Conservation Ecology, Sustainable Agriculture, Outdoor Education and Leadership, Circumpolar Studies, and self-design studies. Financial aid is available.www.sterlingcollege.edu
