Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with "Irish Session on Main," featuring, singer Norman Kennedy. An evening of song, stories, music, and dance - all celebrating the music of Ireland and songs of Scotland. Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with some of Vermont's finest traditional musicians: Geordie Lynd on fiddle, Hilari Farrington on button accordion and harp, Nick Edwards on fiddle, Benedict Koehler on uilleann pipes, Meghan Lydon on fiddle, John McKelvy on flute, dancer Yasi Zeichner on fiddle, Louli Zeichner on banjo and Scottish singer, Norman Kennedy. About the band: Since 2011, Irish musicians have been gathering on Main Street in Montpelier to play traditional Irish music, first at Bagitos, and later at Rabble Rouser. Over time, that gathering has evolved into a traditional session renowned across North America and Ireland, and it has attracted such luminaries as singer Norman Kennedy, Liz Carroll, Seamus Connolly, Michael Tubridy of the Chieftains, the band Full Set, Alasdair Fraser, Ivan Goff, Brian McNamara, Mike McHale and many others. Just before the pandemic, Scottish singer Norman Kennedy and the musicians in Irish Session on Main began work on a recording to document Montpelier's vibrant Irish music scene. Recently, the project has been taken up again, and its album, "The Wild Geese," is slated for completion sometime this year.
