Burklyn Arts Summer Crafts Fair

The Burklyn Arts Council will be holding its annual fair on Saturday, July 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, right in the center of downtown Lyndonville, featuring juried crafts, children’s activities, music, food and, of course, the organization’s famous strawberry shortcake.
The 52nd Burklyn Arts Crafts Fair, always held the first Saturday of July, is unique in that all profits from the event go towards supporting grants and scholarships for the arts in the schools and communities within the Kingdom East Unified School District, allowing limited art-education dollars to go that much further.

Basket Weaving @ Old Stone House Museum & Historic Village

150th Anniversary of Ben's Mill

Join us and learn to rug braid. Create an oval rug (2' x 3') using traditional hand-braiding techniques, appropriate essential tools and new or recycled/washed wool fabrics. Basic hand-sewing skills are essential. Your finished rug will need about 5 square yards of wool.

Fairy Festival

The first two classes will meet at the Orleans Country Grammar School at the base of Prospect Hill. The third (and final) class will meet in the Lawrence Barn adjacent to the Alexander Twilight House and next to the pond. Refreshments provided by Eden Specialty Ciders and Jasper Hill Farm.

This concert will feature the band Albannach. Albannach is Scots-Gaelic for Scottish or Scotsman. Albannach is comprised of two Scotsmen and one Scottish lass, all born and bred in Scotland... plus one American-born Scot and an Irishman. Our main purpose in life is to share our intriguing culture, history and heritage with you by means of our music.
Albannach is not just another Scottish Pipes & Drums band. Its primal drumming and precise piping stirs the soul of anyone who hears them, young and old! With a champion piper, the unique sounds and talents of a didgeridoo player, and the tribal style bass drumming "our music isn't for the faint of heart." It's aggressive, like a Celtic punch to the face!

We offer two classes on our forge at the Old Stone House Museum & Historic Village: one for beginners and one for experienced blacksmiths. In "A Taste of Blacksmithing," you will learn how to start a coal forge, heat steel to a forging temperature and the basics of hammer control. Various tools and techniques will be introduced along the way (including forge welding). The typical participant will go home with a couple hooks, nails and forge welded chain link or two. All materials included. Looking for a forge where you can practice your blacksmithing? You've come to the right place. Join us for our "Open Forge" to work on any of your own projects. If you need it, help will be available from our experienced blacksmiths.
