Have a seat at the table

Last week's Coffee & Connections was an inspiring example of the power of honest, casual conversation (and the power of good coffee).

At least 14 local businesses and organizations were represented by attendees, with industries ranging from food & beverage to education; from aerospace to the arts and beyond.

Community leaders attend the Northeast Kingdom Chamber of Commerce's monthly Coffee Hour.

As we went around the circle for introductions, it was easy to feel awestruck by the diversity of work being done throughout the Northeast Kingdom. Folks shared upcoming projects and events and celebrated breakthroughs and milestones. All the more inspiring, however, was seeing attendees talk through struggles and find solutions and support from connections they were making just that morning.

We all know that the NEK finds its strength in community, but it's easy at times to forget how that extends beyond our personal lives and into our professional worlds. The most important connections we make are, more often than not, made through shared, personal experiences.

If you couldn't make it to last week's Coffee & Connections, we hope you'll make it to the next one. You never know what you'll discover.

Coffee & Connections is one of our favorite recurring events. Join us the first Wednesday of each month in Lyndon, and now, the third Wednesday of each month in Newport (in partnership with VT's North Country Chamber of Commerce). Check our calendar for upcoming dates and themes, and to discover even more great events!
